We would like to once again clearly emphasize that communications passing through Armenia will be exclusively under the jurisdiction of Armenia, security will be ensured by Armenia, not any third country. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this after his meeting with visiting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, on Tuesday in Yerevan.
Pashinyan again noted that they discussed in detail with the Iranian president the regional peace and the unblocking of economic infrastructure, which are key priorities of the Armenian government. Pashinyan added that Armenia's position on this matter is summed up in the country’s Crossroads of Peace project, which has been repeatedly welcomed by high-level representatives of friendly Iran.
He noted that Armenia and the entire Armenian people highly appreciate Iran's clear position on the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and inviolability of Armenia's borders.
"The inviolability of international borders and the uninterrupted communication between our countries are of vital importance to Armenia and Iran," the Armenian PM assured.
