Iran and Armenia are interested in activating the Persian Gulf-Black Sea corridor. Visiting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced this after his meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, on Tuesday in Yerevan.

As per Pezeshkian, the development of transit railway, automobile and sea routes, the use of the potential of the two countries, the development of trade, and the creation of shared free economic zones are domains of cooperation between Iran and Armenia, around which the two parties are conducting a constructive dialogue.

Pezeshkian added that Iran seeks to develop relations with Armenia in all domains and raise them to a strategic level. He noted that bilateral relations between the two countries are developing well in various domains, including transport, energy, engineering services, culture, and medicine.

"We had meaningful talks with the prime minister of Armenia, and today documents were signed, as a result of which the importance of mutual visits was also emphasized. We also discussed border security and tourism development. Stressing the importance of exchanging views on the development of relations and relying on the existing climate of trust, we strive to develop cooperation, especially in the economic sphere," the Iranian president added.

Also, he expressed hope that the Armenian premier will visit Iran soon.
