BMW Group has celebrated an important milestone: it has sold 3 million electric vehicles (EVs), both hybrid and fully electric, reports Jalopnik.

The anniversary model, the 330e, a plug-in hybrid of the 3 Series family, has rolled off the assembly line and been delivered to a customer at the Munich plant. This achievement is the result of a significant increase in sales of both electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in the first half of 2025.

During this period, more than a quarter of the BMW Group's total sales were electric models. Europe is the largest market: more than 60% of all BMW EVs are sold on this continent, and their share in total sales here exceeds 40%.

Also, the carmaker celebrated another important milestone: In July, the 1.5 millionth all-electric vehicle was sold, a MINI Countryman SE, which was produced in Leipzig and delivered to a customer in Portugal.

If all these EVs were to be lined up, they would they would stretch about 6,500 km—roughly the distance from Munich to New York City Today, the BMW Group offers more than 15 all-electric models and more than ten plug-in hybrids from the BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce brands. The latest innovations include the updated BMW iX with a range of over 700 km.
