The Ryazan district court of Russia has sentenced a Ryazan city resident to five years in prison for collaborating with Ukrainian military intelligence, according to the public relations center of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), Interfax reports.

"The RF [(Russian Federation)] citizen of Azerbaijani origin, the woman born in 1970, was convicted for collaborating with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine," the FSB noted.

According to it, this woman voluntarily established contact with a representative of the Ukrainian special service via messengers, and "made targeted attempts to obtain intelligence information that could be used to the detriment of the security of the Russian Federation."

The investigative department of the FSB Ryazan Region has opened a criminal case under the Russian Criminal Code article on collaboration on the basis of secrecy with a foreign state, international, or foreign organization.
