A total of 1,815 foreigners were granted temporary residence status, and 1,775 others were granted permanent residence status in Armenia in January-June, according to data publicized by the Statistical Committee

Of those who were granted temporary residence status in Armenia, 638 were granted this status on the basis of family reunification, 769—on the basis of study, 398—on the basis of engaging in entrepreneurial activity, and 10—on the basis of being Armenian by nationality.

In the first half of the year, the most temporary residence status was granted to Russian citizens: 474 people. Also 466 Indian nationals and 293 Iranian citizens were granted temporary residence status in the first six months of 2025.

As for those who were granted permanent residence status in Armenia, 209 out of 1,775 were granted this status based on residence in the country for at least three years, 251—on the basis of engaging in entrepreneurial activity, and 1,315—on the basis of being Armenian by nationality.

In the first half of the year, the largest number of permanent residence statuses in Armenia were granted to Russian nationals: 970 people. Also, 143 Georgian citizens, 117 Syrian nationals, 113 Ukrainian citizens, and 48 Lebanese nationals ere granted permanent residence status in Armenia in the first six months of 2025.
