The fact that many countries want to develop friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with Kazakhstan speaks, first of all, about the standing and demand of our country in the international arena, said Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

“Kazakhstan makes its contribution to resolving important international issues, and appreciates cooperation with all interested countries, both neighboring and far from us,” Tokayev added.

“(…) we are going to receive the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkmenistan in Astana,” the Kazakh president noted, in particular.

According to him, for lasting peace and shared progress, it is necessary to seek compromises.

“A bad peace is better than a good quarrel,” Tokayev said. “Therefore, Kazakhstan has welcomed the results of the Russian-American summit in Alaska, as well as the signing of the peace declaration between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington, mediated by US President [Donald] Trump.”
