Foreign rating agencies note a decrease, but not a disappearance, in geopolitical risks around Armenia. The governor of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), Martin Galstyan, stated this during the debates on the annual report on the activities of the CBA at Tuesday’s parliament session.

That is why one of the leading rating agencies, Fitch, did not update Armenia's credit rating at the end of August, but only made cautiously positive comments, Galstyan added.

"The initialing of the agreements [between Armenia and Azerbaijan] is a positive step, but obstacles remain on the way," Galstyan quoted.

At any rate, according to the CBA chief, in his personal contacts with international partners—be they international experts or trade organizations—they express positive assessments regarding Armenia.

"In the near future, the Raiffeisen Bank International corporation will hold Armenia Days in Vienna for the first time. Of course, this event was planned even before the initialing of the agreements, but positive signals on its threshold have recently increased," Martin Galstyan noted.
