Minister of justice Srbuhi Galyan, during a press briefing after Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government, commented on Azerbaijan's claims to "Zangezur."

Regarding Azerbaijan's exaggeration of the topic of "Western Azerbaijan" and the question of what Armenia should do if, by mutually withdrawing from interstate judicial processes, Armenia finds itself in a state of encroachment on its Syunik Province—which Baku calls "Western Azerbaijan"—Galyan stated that the Armenian side does not accept these theories, and that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday gave comprehensive answers to all kinds of questions, indicating the principles reflected in the signed and initialed documents.

"We live in the Republic of Armenia. This is the Republic of Armenia, period!" Galyan stated, partially using Pashinyan's well-known quote regarding Nagorno-Karabakh being part of Armenia.

And in response to the expression about the need to resist, Galyan stated: "Resist what? Whom to convince: the international community or the opponent? Do we have anything to prove? I don't think so."
