Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan on Friday received Brendan Hanrahan, Senior Bureau Official for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs of the US Department of State, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Ministry of Economy of Armenia.

The prospects for expanding economic cooperation and increasing trade between Armenia and the US were discussed. Also, the development of bilateral relations in a number of key domains was touched upon.

In addition, the parties emphasized the importance of deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, and expressed their willingness to continue joint work aimed at strengthening economic ties, improving the investment environment, and promoting new initiatives.

Reflecting on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) communication project and infrastructure, Papoyan stressed that Armenia is very interested in this project, and proposed to develop these projects in the PPP format, ensuring the drawing of private investments, as well as to launch the development of a roadmap for the implementation of this project.

The interlocutors exchanged views also on the Crossroads of Peace project of Armenia. In this context, Gevorg Papoyan emphasized that the Crossroads of Peace is not only an economic project, but also a project to strengthen regional peace and stability, which will contribute to the deepening of regional cooperation and the reduction of tensions. The economy minister added that Armenia underscores the American experience and assistance in the modernization of infrastructure and border security.
