On September 19, 2023, Azerbaijan launched a large-scale military attack on Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), targeting its civilian population and infrastructure, and resulting in numerous casualties, the Artsakh representation in France noted in a statement.

And after a ten-month-long complete blockade, Azerbaijani armed forces annexed Artsakh, and this led to the forced displacement and ethnic cleansing of its Armenians.

In order to remember these tragic events and discuss their political and legal consequences, a conference, entitled “Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh): Two Years After Ethnic Cleansing,” will be held at the French National Assembly.

The even will bring together members of the French, Swiss, and European Parliaments, representatives of local governments, diplomats, academics, and journalists.

The conference aims to raise awareness of the situation regarding Artsakh, to document the Armenian ethnic cleansing that has taken place there, and to discuss political and legal perspectives on the future of this region.
