Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Sobhani on the occasion of the conclusion of his diplomatic mission in Armenia, informs the Armenian foreign ministry.
FM Mirzoyan emphasized that although Ambassador Sobhani served in a rather difficult period, during this time the two countries managed not only to overcome difficulties, but also to record tangible results in bilateral relations. In this context, the interlocutors discussed the current and future work aimed at developing the Armenia-Iran strategic partnership—and which includes several domains of mutual interest: infrastructure, energy, etc.
Both parties stressed that the Armenia-Iran cooperation is based on friendship between the two peoples, unconditional respect for the principles important for regional peace, and mutual understanding formed on key issues.
Also, FM Ararat Mirzoyan presented Ambassador Mehdi Sobhani with the Order of Friendship, awarded to him by the decree of the President of Armenia, for his significant contribution to the deepening of cooperation between Armenia and Iran, as well as the strengthening and development of Armenian-Iranian friendly relations, and wished him success in his future activities.
