Against the backdrop of ongoing nuclear and regional developments, Iran will use the upcoming session of the UN General Assembly in the US to hold talks with European countries in order to clarify its position and address concerns, Mehr reports.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai said that the imposition of visa restrictions on delegations from the Islamic Republic of Iran attending United Nations meetings in New York is not new, but this time the measures are unprecedented and openly violate the US's obligations as the host country. This further undermines confidence in the country.

He added that some visas have already been issued, but detailed information from colleagues in New York and Geneva is still awaited.

“As soon as it is received, decisions will be made regarding the composition of the Iranian delegation and its participation,” he said.

According to Baghai, Iran will take advantage of the opportunity and, at the UN General Assembly, as well as during other international meetings, will clarify its positions and engage in dialogue with other countries on regional and international events.

“During this trip, given the current delicate circumstances surrounding nuclear issues and the reinstatement of previously annulled UN Security Council resolutions, Iran plans to hold talks with European and other countries,” he stressed.
