Russia still prefers to resolve the situation in Ukraine through political and diplomatic means, according to Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“We continue to state that our preferred option is to resolve the Ukrainian crisis through political and diplomatic means,” Peskov told reporters.
According to the Kremlin representative, Russia remains open to negotiations on Ukraine.
“We maintain our position, we remain open to the negotiation process (on Ukraine - ed.),” Peskov told reporters.
The Russian presidential press secretary also said that prisoner exchanges between Russia and Ukraine are currently on hold, but may resume.
“This is being discussed, but as you can see, there is also a certain pause here. However, this does not mean that these exchanges cannot be resumed,” he said in response to a question about the situation with prisoner exchanges and the transfer of bodies.
