Georgia has strategic partnerships with three neighbors—Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey, said Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili on the program “Current Topics—with Maka Tsintsadze” on Georgia's First Channel.

“When talking about global security, we must first and foremost talk about relations with our neighbors. Relations with our neighbors are our top priority,” Bochorishvili said.

According to her, relations with all three countries are very valuable for Tbilisi.

"You remember that, on the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the first meeting of foreign ministers was held in Tbilisi, where the meeting between Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia was discussed. It was a very interesting first meeting. I am confident that in this format, and not only in this format, relations between us will continue and develop, and we are ready for this. We continue to work to ensure that issues important to the region, issues important to the security of the region, are discussed by us, and we are participants in this process. Georgia will continue to work actively with our partners in this process. A number of visits have been made to the Republic of Turkey. Relations with Turkey are also very important to us. Turkey is an important player in the region and an important partner," said Bochorishvili.

According to the Foreign Minister, Georgia has implemented a number of important projects in the format of trilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan and Turkey, which, according to Bochorishvili, proves that these countries “through good-neighborly, friendly relations can implement projects that are beneficial not only for their countries, but also for the wider region."

"This confirms that we have the strength to implement projects that are beneficial to our countries through good-neighborly, friendly relations, which is important for the entire region. This region already includes the countries of Central Asia and Europe, for which security and cooperation in our region are also important. The Georgian government is also doing this, seeking to strengthen ties first with neighboring countries and then with countries throughout the region. This year, a number of visits were made to Central Asian countries, which is also very important for our security and for the economic development of our region, and, of course, we will continue to work in this direction. Very soon, Tbilisi will host the Silk Road Forum, another international conference where we will have the opportunity to talk again about the role of our country, its functions, and the international cooperation that Georgia is developing in this direction," said Maka Bochorishvili.
