Germany said that “the ball is still in Iran's court” after Britain, France, and Germany held talks with the Islamic Republic over its nuclear program, AFP reports.

A telephone conversation between the foreign ministers of the two countries took place after European powers set a 30-day deadline last month for the entry into force of so-called “snapback” sanctions in the absence of an agreed agreement on Iran's nuclear program. A spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry said that the proposal by the so-called “Eurotroika” powers “to discuss a temporary postponement of retaliatory measures if Iran meets certain conditions remains in force.”

He added that “at this point, the steps taken by Iran are not enough.”
