The Armenian government, at its Cabinet meeting Thursday, approved the agreement on the center for customs expertise and research of the customs agencies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member countries.
As per the explanation of this decision, the aforesaid agreement aims to grant the specialized state agency of a CIS country the status of a center for customs expertise and research of the customs agencies, which is authorized to conduct expertise and research for customs purposes.
The agreement will help improve the efficiency of the customs agencies of the CIS member states in economic protection, strengthening security, and combating violations in the customs sector, as well as developing the potential and professional skills of experts.
The powers of the expert institution in the status of a center shall be exercised for five years.
