The second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, on Friday reaffirmed his position on the committed crime.

Earlier, in the previous court hearing on the Criminal Code article considered unconstitutional, the former president had stated that the actions he was accused of had stemmed from his constitutional duties.

“A crime is being committed before our eyes, and I ask that this statement of mine be considered a report of a crime,” Kocharyan had stated at that court hearing—and referring to the absurdity of the accusations.

At Friday’s court hearing, the court asked the ex-president whether his aforesaid statement was addressed to a specific court because if so, this court needs to send an excerpt from the court session protocol to the competent authorities.

The second president of Armenia recalled that the prosecution is in attendance at these hearings, and that the statement was not specifically addressed to a court.

“It was a public statement,” Robert Kocharyan explained.
