In recent years, Armenia-European Union (EU) relations have acquired a new quality and depth. Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan stated this during Friday’s joint news conference with the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, who is visiting Armenia.

“We note with satisfaction that the agenda of our bilateral relations has been supplemented with new, important components, including the launch of a political and security dialogue. The political agreement reached on the new agenda of our partnership is a vivid proof of this. I am confident that our new agenda will be approved by the Armenia-EU Partnership Council to be held in Brussels this year. I am confident that this process will contribute to the further deepening of our relations, as well as the progress of Armenia’s democratic and economic reforms,” Grigoryan added.

Also, he emphasized that work will continue consistently towards the full implementation of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, and underscored the localization of EU best practices as an integral part of the reform agenda.

“I would like to emphasize that the government of Armenia highly appreciates the EU’s continued support. The EU is a reliable partner on the path to strengthening our country’s socioeconomic resilience, institutional reforms, and regional stability. Armenia is committed to the regional connectivity agenda,” Grigoryan added.
