Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a delegation led by Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov, the PM’s office informs.

The premier welcomed the delegation’s visit to Armenia, and noted that the high-level political and cultural relations between the two countries should be the basis for the development and deepening of economic cooperation between them. Also, Pashinyan expressed hope that more active work will be carried out in this regard as a result of Zafirov’s visit to Armenia.

In turn, the Bulgarian deputy PM emphasized the fact of age-old ties between the two countries and peoples, and added that his country attaches importance to the expanding of trade and economic relations with Armenia. In this regard, the interlocutors noted the need to hold business forums and take steps aimed at promoting cooperation between the two countries in various sectors of the economy.

They exchanged views also on Armenia-European Union cooperation, as well as some other matters of regional importance. In this regard, the Bulgarian deputy premier welcomed the declaration signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington on August 8, and the establishment of peace between them.
