Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan on Tuesday hosted a delegation led by Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov, informs the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia.

Hayrapetyan attached importance to Zafirov's visit to Armenia, and noted that it contributes to the deepening of cooperation formed in an atmosphere of mutual trust between the two countries. In his remarks, the minister presented Armenia's engineering and technological potential, support programs being provided to this sector, and ongoing reforms and educational initiatives aimed at the development of Armenia’s technological potential. Mkhitar Hayrapetyan emphasized the progress being recorded in this sector through engineering educational programs being implemented by the Armenian government.

Bulgarian Deputy PM Zafirov, in turn, highly appreciated the opportunities for expanding cooperation with Armenia, and stressed the respective potential in the technological and educational sectors in particular. Also, he shared his impressions of his visit to Armenia, presented the results of his meetings with members of the Armenian government and his visit to the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies as a vivid example of the strategic steps being taken to develop Armenia’s innovative potential and technological generation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed possible domains of cooperation: expanding the Bulgarian technology companies’ engagement in Armenia, as well as deepening partnership in the defense industry, green and space technologies. The possibilities for Armenia’s participation in infrastructure projects being implemented in the Black Sea region were also discussed.

In conclusion, the parties mutually emphasized the opportunities for holding mutual visits, as well as the prospects for expanding cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats within the framework of the European Union.
