Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will have at least ten meetings within the framework of the UN General Assembly in New York, informed Maria Zakharova, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.
"And these are not meetings on foot, but full-format negotiations... The schedule may change, there may be a little more, but it is unlikely to be less," added Zakharova.
When reporters asked whether a meeting of the Russian foreign minister with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was planned, too, the Russian MFA spokesperson answered in the affirmative.
Her words are confirmed by the American side as well.
"12:00 p.m. Secretary Rubio meets with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in New York City, New York," the US State Department informed on its website.
Lavrov arrived in New York to attend the ongoing 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
