Work has begun in Armenia on the “Trump Route,” Hikmat Hajiyev, assistant to the president of Azerbaijan, announced at the 6th Caspian Business Forum in New York.

“The implementation of the railway project from Baku to Zangilan and the border with Armenia began in 2020” and is planned to be completed by mid-2026, noted the Azerbaijani presidential aide.

“Also, work is being carried out on the 42-kilometer section of the Zangezur corridor on the territory of Armenia. Our US partners are engaged in them,” Hajiyev stated, reports Haqqin.az.

Armenian News-NEWS.am has contacted the Armenian government for comments in this regard, but the government has not yet responded.
