Artsrun Galstyan, who was wounded and taken to the hospital after the shooting in Merdzavan village, regained consciousness, an investigator questioned him, and a forensic medical examination was ordered, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that on Tuesday at 11:52pm, the police received a report that shots had been fired in Merdzavan village of Armavir Province, there are two dead and one injured. One of the dead is the head of the Parakar enlarged community, Volodya Grigoryan.

The second person killed is a police officer by the name of Karen Abrahamyan, an employee of the Ararat Province criminal police, who was not on duty at the time of the murder; he was Grigoryan’s friend.

The incident had occurred in front of Grigoryan’s house, and Artsrun Galstyan was wounded in the shooting.

The video surveillance cameras at the scene of the murder have been taken possession of.

A criminal case has been opened at the Vagharshapat city investigative department of the Armavir provincial investigative department.

On March 30, Volodya Grigoryan, as an opposition candidate in the local elections in Parakar, had recorded a landslide victory against the ruling party.
