Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the Kremlin on Thursday.

“We express our gratitude for accepting our invitation and participating in this international event [i.e. the World Atomic Week forum in Moscow] dedicated to the development of the nuclear industry. This is natural, since Armenia has been operating a nuclear power plant for a long time, which, as you yourself noted at the forum, provides 30 percent of the country's electricity.

This is a significant number, 30 percent, a third of all electricity [in Armenia], is produced by the nuclear power plant. Rosatom [State Atomiс Energy Corporation of Russia] is currently working on extending the life of this nuclear power plant. So, your presence at the forum is, of course, completely logical,” Putin noted.
