NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has expressed hope that the Ukraine conflict will end peacefully through negotiations.
“Not every conflict ends with negotiation… But I think in the Ukraine case, it is most likely it will end through negotiations. But [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelenskyy needs to know that his country, going forward, after a peace deal or a long-term ceasefire, is protected,,” Rutte said during an address at the US Military Academy at West Point.
Also, Rutte noted the importance of US-EU cooperation in the negotiation process, and considered it a winning combination.
