Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan received the newly-appointed ambassador of Egypt to Armenia, Amal Afifi, on the occasion of handing the copies of her credentials, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

During the meeting, the parties touched upon the deep historical ties between the peoples of Armenia and Egypt, and underscored the importance of active mutual contacts between the two countries at the current phase, including high-level visits.

Also, the deputy FM of Armenia and the new ambassador of Egypt discussed matters on the bilateral agenda between the two countries in  education, culture and some other domains, and touched upon the opportunities to expand existing cooperation.
