Regarding our compatriots who have become refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh, I have already stated that we hope to receive significant financial assistance from the international community to resolve their issues. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Tuesday stated this at the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), in Strasbourg, France

According to him, the Council of Europe can also assist the Armenian refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh by implementing various programs, including in training and education. He called this a very important direction so that they can find their place in Armenia’s labor market more quickly.

Pashinyan announced that in the near future the Armenian government is going to hold a conference with the participation of Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh who have become refugees.

“During this event, we will try to agree with them on specific medium- and long-term programs, and provide them with maximum support,” he added.

The Armenian PM reiterated that the use of legitimate terminology is one of the most important components of achieving peace, since the terminology—i.e. “Zangezur Corridor”—that is used and whose use he has condemned is widely perceived in Armenia as territorial claims to the country’s sovereign territory.

“We must rely on the very coherent terminology, and only its use will enable us to nurture and develop the newborn peace,” the Armenian PM concluded.
