Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Thursday met with European Parliament president Roberta Metsola, on the margins of the seventh meeting of the European Political Community, in the Danish capital of Copenhagen, the PM’s office informs.

During the meeting, the course of Armenia-European Union (EU) cooperation and the prospects for its expansion were discussed. The parties attached importance to the implementation of joint initiatives in the strengthening of democracy, the rule of law, regional stability, and economic development.

PM Pashinyan lauded the European Parliament’s continued attention toward and support for Armenia, and stressed the country’s agenda of deepening cooperation and partnership with the EU.

In turn, Roberta Metsola reaffirmed the European Parliament’s readiness to continue supporting Armenia in the strengthening of its democratic reforms, institutional development, and the peace agenda.

The parties exchanged views also on regional developments, the implementation of the agreements reached at the Washington peace summit, and the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) communication project.
