YEREVAN. - Armenia’s first president, leader of the oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Ter-Petrosyan met the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Eric Rubin. The U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern was also present at the meeting.

The sides discussed the current situation of Armenian-Turkish relations and the settlement of the Karabakh conflict in the context of the current geopolitics, the press service of ANC informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

After that the sides discussed the coming elections. The importance of the participation of numerous international observer missions was stressed.
