Commander of the Iranian navy, Shahram Irani, has arrived in Saint Petersburg, Russia, to participate in a meeting of Caspian Sea naval commanders, RIA Novosti reports, citing the Iranian embassy.
“The commander of Iran’s naval forces has arrived in Saint Petersburg to participate in the meeting of naval commanders of the Caspian Sea countries,” the aforesaid Russian news agency wrote on its Telegram account.
And according to Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB, Irani is scheduled to hold talks with the naval commanders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan during his visit. He will also tour “several naval bases” located in the Gulf of Finland.
