The daily Iravunk of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: According to government sources, the beginning of the smear campaign against the His Holiness [i.e. Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II] will start in October.

And before that, Nshan Hovhannisyan, who had been shamefully defrocked for making the "operation a success," has been brought in and placed in the Government so that he could help Arayik Harutyunyan, the [PM’s] chief of staff who had been appointed "commander" of the campaign against the church, find clergymen who renounce the [Armenian Apostolic] church for ten silver coins.

“And let me say Nshan Hovhannisyan, now an advisor to the RA Government's Staff’s Department of National Minorities and Religious Affairs, coordinating separate functions in structural divisions, is not working badly. He has already managed to ‘recruit’ young clergymen,” our source said.

They say he has promised to bring in about a dozen clergymen in the near future, who will be the main mouthpieces of the campaign against His Holiness.
