The Past daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has once again “sung the same tune,” declaring yet again that Armenia must remove its demands toward Azerbaijan from its Constitution.
“The CC [i.e. the ruling Civil Contract Party and its parliamentary faction] was brought to power in 2018 through a special operation to hand over Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh) to Azerbaijan], dismantle the Armenian army and Armenian-Russian ties, and steer the RA toward the West — and de facto toward Turkey,” the Republic Square Telegram channel writes regarding the topic, and expresses a view that in order to be re-elected, [Armenian PM Nikol] Pashinyan will fulfill all of [Azerbaijani president Ilham] Aliyev’s demands.
According to the authors, Pashinyan has two allies — the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem and the police forces inside the country. At the same time, it is noted that the West is using Pashinyan and the CC to detach the RA from the RF [(Russian Federation)] and Iran, and to open a second front for Moscow in the South Caucasus.
“It is in the West’s interest to have anti-Russian, pro-Western, pro-Turkish authorities in Yerevan who do not enjoy the respect and trust of their own people, as in that way, they will be easily controlled. As a result of that, the keys to Syunik [Province of Armenia] were handed over to the US by the CC; that was yet another anti-Russian anti-Iranian, pro-Turkish move.”
As for the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem, it is in their interest “to have capitulating, Artsakh-hating authorities in the RA, as in that case, the issue of Artsakh will be closed forever, the Armenian army will be reduced, and emigration from the RA will once and for all de-Armenianize the entire country within 10-20 years.” In the [aforesaid Telegram] channel’s conviction, thus the list of Azerbaijan’s demands from the RA and Pashinyan has a beginning but no end, while the CC, for the sake of maintaining power and ensuring Pashinyan’s re-election [in the parliamentary election] in 2026, is ready to fulfill any demand from the West, [Turkish president Recep Tayyip] Erdogan, or Aliyev.
