Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Friday met with Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon, Pashinyan wrote on Facebook, where he also posted a respective video.

And according to a statement released by the PM’s Office, Nikol Pashinyan held a private meeting in Tajik capital Dushanbe with Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon.

First, Rahmon welcomed the visit of Armenia’s premier, and noted that today’s meeting is a good opportunity to discuss agenda matters aimed at the further development of bilateral relations.

In turn, Pashinyan thanked the Tajik president for the warm hospitality, and adding that the government of Armenia attaches importance to the expansion and deepening of multifaceted ties with Tajikistan.

The interlocutors exchanged views on further steps to give new impetus to trade and economic relations between the two countries.

Also, they discussed the opportunities created by the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the strengthening of the atmosphere of cooperation in the region, as well as the implementation of the TRIPP and Armenia’s Crossroads of Peace projects.

Emomali Rahmon welcomed the initialing of the peace agreement as a result of the Washington meeting, and expressed Tajikistan’s support for the process of normalizing Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.
