Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev discussed progress toward peace within the framework of the CIS summit in Dushanbe, CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev told reporters after the meeting on Friday.

According to Lebedev, Pashinyan and Aliyev had a warm conversation during the Commonwealth of Independent States’ (CIS)  summit in the Tajik capital.

“You probably saw for yourselves that the Armenian prime minister and the Azerbaijani president had a very warm conversation, and did not discuss disputed issues, but rather how to move forward in strengthening peace and security in the South Caucasus region,” Lebedev told reporters.

He added that “very warm and meaningful conversations also took place between the leaders of other states — it is noteworthy that with specific proposals and projects.”
