Turkey’s Presidential State Control Department is nearing the end of its study of the examination into the murder case of Hrant Dink, the founder and former chief editor of Istanbul’s Agos Armenian weekly, who was killed in 2007.   

And the Department came across serious violations and omissions in the examination of this case. It is noted that several documents on the case were falsified, and a number of documents had simply disappeared. The Department’s report will demand an inquest against several officials, Cumhuriyet daily of Turkey informs.  

To note, the Turkish parliament’s subcommittee on Dink’s murder case just recently presented its report. “The police and the gendarmerie alike were informed of the operation to be organized against Hrant Dink, but it was not studied, and the necessary measures were not taken,” the report noted.
