The tenth meeting of the Armenia-European Union (EU) Joint Committee on Readmission and the eighth meeting of the Armenia-EU Joint Committee on Visa Facilitation were held in Brussels, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am
During the meetings, the parties discussed recent developments in the migration policies of the EU and Armenia as well as the process of Armenia-EU visa liberalization, and presented the implementation progress, statistical data, and existing issues related to the readmission agreement. Technical and substantive matters aimed at improving the effectiveness of the implementation of this agreement were also discussed.
The discussions further addressed reintegration support programs in Armenia, efforts to enhance the system of voluntary return and reintegration to Armenia, including awareness-raising initiatives aimed at preventing illegal migration.
The European side highly appreciated the cooperation with the Armenian side, as well as the ongoing efforts and recorded progress in implementing the Armenia-EU readmission agreement.
Both parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue effective cooperation toward the further efficient implementation of the Armenia-EU agreements on readmission and visa facilitation.
