Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan commented on the preparations for the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) regional communication project.
At a joint press conference in Yerevan Tuesday with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Chairperson-in-Office, Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Elina Valtonen, the FM recalled that TRIPP will be a section of the railway that will pass through southern Armenia.
Mirzoyan stated that on Monday in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, he had the opportunity to discuss with his Azerbaijani counterpart the full range of matters related to the normalization of relations, including the unblocking of regional infrastructure.
The Armenian FM once again emphasized that the aforesaid unblocking will be carried out based on several principles — territorial integrity, inviolability of borders, sovereignty, jurisdiction of states, and reciprocity. According to him, these principles of unblocking apply to all communications, including this section.
The technical solutions for TRIPP are currently being discussed with the American side, and the work has already been completed since August 8. After a final decision is made, it will be announced, and an Armenian-American joint company will handle its servicing.
“At this moment, an agreement has been reached on what has been publicized. The rest will be clarified, coordinated by all sides, and announced,” said Ararat Mirzoyan.
