Queen Mathilde of Belgium is on a working visit to Armenia.

She will be in the country until Wednesday as an advocate for the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Earlier, it was announced that the visit will provide an opportunity to highlight the importance of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and to establish direct dialogue with numerous players in Armenia’s society who are involved in innovation, social inclusion, health care, education, and environmental protection.

During the visit, Queen Mathilde will meet with students to discuss their vision regarding practical initiatives for sustainable development. A visit to the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies is planned, too. Also, she will visit Gegharkunik Province, the area around Lake Sevan, and a kindergarten specializing in assisting children with special educational needs.

In addition, she will discuss matters related to the economic and social inclusion of refugees in Armenia.

Furthermore, Queen Mathilde will hold high-level meetings with Armenia’s authorities to discuss the country’s priorities regarding the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and the challenges within the framework of the 2030 vision.
