Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Tuesday received the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Chairperson-in-Office, Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Elina Valtonen, the PM’s office informs.

The premier emphasized the importance of Armenia’s effective cooperation with the OSCE, and noted that an active dialogue has been established over the past years. Pashinyan stressed the need to strengthen the OSCE’s role in ensuring security and stability within its area of responsibility.

In turn, Valtonen congratulated Armenia and Azerbaijan on the establishment of peace, and expressed confidence that it will considerably contribute to building a stable future for Armenia and to developing regional cooperation.

The parties discussed the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the continuation of their border delimitation process, and several other regional matters.

Also, they exchanged views on the development of Armenia-European Union (EU) relations. In this connection, PM Pashinyan highlighted the EU’s consistent assistance in strengthening democracy and advancing reforms in Armenia, and stressed that the adoption of EU standards in various sectors is a priority for the Armenian government. In this context, reforms in the fight against corruption, the development of civil society, and the improvement of the business environment of Armenia were discussed.

Furthermore, Nikol Pashinyan and Elina Valtonen addressed the further development of Armenia-Finland relations. In particular, they exchanged views on promoting business ties and attracting investments. Also, they emphasized the need to organize high-level mutual visits between the two countries.
