Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has canceled his scheduled meeting Wednesday with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Chairperson-in-Office, Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Elina Valtonen, who is visiting Georgia, reports Georgia Online.
“Because of her participation in yesterday’s illegal rally and the false statements she made, the prime minister has canceled the planned meeting with the head of Finland’s foreign ministry,” the Georgian government said in a statement.
According to Georgian media, Valtonen on Tuesday participated in a protest held in front of the Georgian parliament building and spoke with demonstrators there. Protesters said they had discussed with the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office the content and objectives of their protest.
To note, Elina Valtonen on Tuesday visited Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, where she was received by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
