Premium automaker Alfa Romeo has updated its compact crossover, the Tonale, unveiling the 2026 model with refreshed design and a new engine, Jalopnik reports.

The hybrid version is no longer available in the model lineup; it has been replaced by a 2.0-liter turbo engine producing 268 horsepower. This engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

As a result, although performance has improved, the fuel efficiency and electric power typical of the hybrid have been lost.

The refreshed Tonale now features a more “aggressive” exterior thanks to a new radiator grille, redesigned bumpers, and 20-inch triple-spoke wheels that have received positive feedback. New interior trim options have been added, including red leather upholstery and contrast stitching.

The model’s trim range now includes the Sprint, Veloce, and Sport Speciale versions. The latter stands out with exclusive silver accents, black Brembo brake calipers, and upholstery made of black and pearl Alcantara—a suede-like synthetic material.

Prices have not yet been announced, but the updated Tonale is expected to arrive in showrooms by the end of 2025.
