The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Oaridjhani, received on Tuesday Alexander Lavrentyev, the special envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin for Syria, Mehr news agency reports.

During the meeting, the parties discussed developments related to Syria and regional cooperation.

Lavrentyev also met on Monday with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi at the Iranian Foreign Ministry building in Tehran.

It is worth noting that last week, the new President of Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa, visited Moscow and held talks at the Kremlin with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
