Arsen Torosyan, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, today received Vassilis Maragos, Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, NEWS.am reports citing the Ministry.

The meeting focused on several issues aimed at developing sectoral cooperation, including labor, social housing, development of the caregiving institute, digitization of social services, and other areas. The results of EU-supported projects already implemented in the fields of labor and social protection were also discussed.

During the meeting, the parties considered the possibilities for technical assistance from the EU to improve social protection systems, as well as experience-sharing on deinstitutionalization processes.

Minister Torosyan highly valued the effective cooperation with the EU, emphasizing the institution’s important role in Armenia’s social policy and reform agenda.

Regarding the work carried out within the framework of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), Minister Torosyan noted that the Ministry continues to actively participate in the preparation and implementation of the agreement’s roadmap in cooperation with EU experts.

The meeting also reviewed the results of EU social support measures aimed at individuals forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh. In this context, Minister Torosyan detailed the state-run programs, highlighting efforts in housing and employment support for compatriots.

Vassilis Maragos emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Ministry and expressed his readiness to continue contributing to planned programs in the social protection sector.
