U.S. Vice President James David Vance said during a press conference in Kiryat Gat, southern Israel, that he hopes the agreement between Israel and Hamas regarding Gaza will hold, The Jerusalem Post reports.

“What I saw last week gives me great hope that the ceasefire will be maintained,” he said.

“Given the history of this conflict, I think everyone should be proud of where we are today. I’m very optimistic. Can I say with 100% certainty that it will work? No,” he added.
