On October 23, defense consultations between Armenia and India took place in Hyderabad within the framework of the Joint Working Group on bilateral defense cooperation established last year.

The consultations were co-chaired by Head of the Department of Defense Policy and International Cooperation of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense, Levon Ayvazyan, and Joint Secretary for International Cooperation of India’s Ministry of Defense, Vishwesh Negi.

Armenia’s Ambassador to India, Vahagn Afyan, also participated in the discussions. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress of the 2025 cooperation program and emphasized the importance of including several new areas in next year’s plan. They also exchanged views on regional and international security issues.

The parties briefed each other on recent developments in their respective armed forces. At the conclusion of the event, the Ministries of Defense of Armenia and India signed the 2026 cooperation program, which includes a number of initiatives in the fields of high-level and expert exchanges, military education, defense technology, combat training and exercises, experience sharing, and more.

It was agreed that the next session will be held in the Republic of Armenia.
