The Administrative Court has accepted for consideration the application filed by Edmon Marukyan, challenging the Armenian government’s decision to remove the image of Mount Ararat from the stamps used at border checkpoints. The news was reported by Azatutyun (RFE/RL’s Armenian Service).
According to the contested decision, the image of Mount Ararat will be removed from the stamp used for crossing Armenia’s state border starting November 1, 2025.
At the same time, the Administrative Court rejected Marukyan’s motion to suspend the enforcement of the disputed act. Thus, Government Decision No. 1299-N is set to enter into force on November 1, 2025. Marukyan plans to appeal the court’s interim decision rejecting the suspension of the act’s implementation.
