Israel intends to personally determine the composition of international forces that may be deployed in the Gaza Strip to ensure a ceasefire under US President Donald Trump’s plan, Reuters reports.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel will personally decide which foreign forces will be allowed to participate in the international mission in Gaza. This decision is made within the framework of the ceasefire plan proposed by the Trump administration.

"We are in control of our security, and we have also made it clear regarding international forces that Israel will determine which forces are unacceptable to us, and this is how we operate and will continue to operate," Netanyahu said, adding that this has been agreed with the US.

The White House has ruled out the possibility of sending American troops, but negotiations on the composition of this mission are ongoing with Indonesia, the UAE, Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and Azerbaijan.

At a cabinet meeting, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel remains independent on security matters and does not act under the direction of the US administration.

However, according to diplomats, it was Trump’s efforts that prompted Israel to accept the framework of the peace plan and establish cooperation with Qatar following the bombing incident targeting Hamas representatives.

Washington hopes that Arab partners will help complete the exchange of hostages and stabilize the situation in Gaza.
