In 2026, 1 billion drams (approx. US$2.6 million) will be allocated from Armenia’s state budget to host the 8th European Political Community summit in the capital Yerevan. This was announced by Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office, Arayik Harutyunyan, during the debates on the 2026 state budget draft of Armenia at the joint meeting of the standing committees of the National Assembly on Wednesday.

“About 50 delegations from Europe will arrive in Armenia [to attend this event],” Harutyunyan added.

Also, he noted that the aforesaid summit is an event held in Europe every six months, where heads of states gather to discuss current issues.

“We plan to hold that event in early May. One billion drams are planned in the budget of the Prime Minister's Office. A tender has now been announced. The funds are intended also in the reserve fund. According to the tender, if necessary, we will be ready to provide additional funds as well,” the Armenian official stated.
