Russia and Azerbaijan are working diligently at various levels, and dialogue between the two countries continues, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said, RIA Novosti reports.
“Work is currently being carried out diligently, and the president [i.e. Russia’s Vladimir Putin] has raised all of these very sensitive issues, and they are being addressed at the working level. We continue our dialogue,” Peskov told reporters in response to the question about whether there are contacts between Russia and Azerbaijan regarding the release of Russians detained in Azerbaijani capital Baku.
Azerbaijani media had reported on July 1 that eight Russian citizens had been detained in Baku, who, according to the Azerbaijani side, were involved in drug trafficking from Iran and cybercrimes. They were placed in detention for four months.
