Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the European Union (EU) Special Representative for Human Rights, Kajsa Ollongren, in Paris, the PM’s office informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

During the meeting, the process of reforms initiated by the government of Armenia to protect human rights, strengthen democratic institutions and ensure the rule of law, and the agenda of respective cooperation were discussed.

PM Pashinyan emphasized that the protection of human rights and the continuation of democratic reforms are among the priorities of the Armenian government. Also, the premier stressed that democracy is not a choice but a strategy for the government of Armenia.

Ollongren, for her part, lauded the efforts of the government of Armenia to accomplish democratic institutions and implement reforms aimed at protecting human rights, and emphasized the EU’s readiness to continue close cooperation with the country.
